Youth Olympic Games 2010

From Channel NewsAsia:

SINGAPORE: Singapore has beaten Moscow to win the bid to host the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

This was announced on Thursday via satellite from the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

From nine cities in October, a shortlist of five was made in November. This was reduced to two last month.

Postal voting by IOC members closed last Friday. Singapore got the majority of the votes to win the bid. - CNA/ir

Yay! =D Exciting!

Is that a dog barking downstairs or somebody shouting for joy?

Funnily enough, I first got the news via one of SingTel's advertisements on my handphone, telling people to subscribe to their service of providing news updates from CNA for $4.95 per month.

By the way, CNA is really fast in updating their site. It's the first thing you'll see if you go in now.
