Orangutan name

I have an uncle whose name is Siew Meng, said in Chinese it's "Siao (Xiao) Ming". Yesterday our relatives were talking about Ah Meng, the orangutan who had died the day before.

Aunt: 听说他们要把她的孩子的名字换成“小明”。[Heard that they are going to change one of her child to "Xiao Ming" (to name after her.)]
Aunt: 。。。 。。。
Aunt: (指着小明姑丈〕哈哈! 小明!那不是小明!(*pointing to my uncle* haha! Xiao Ming! Isn't that Xiao Ming!)

Anyway, the zoo will name the next newborn orangutan as Ah Meng Junior, not exactly change one of the current son's or daughter's name to that.

Hello Kitty haven

Last night we visited my brother's nanny's son's house. Complicated, heh. Anyway we visited this house where one of its owner loves Hello Kitty to bits. I know of a certain somebody who share similar characteristics to the owner.

Its flower pot on the table is Hello Kitty:

Tidbit container is Hello Kitty:

Table mat is Hello Kitty:

Floor mat is Hello Kitty:

Little table and chair set is Hello Kitty:

Dustbin is Hello Kitty:

In fact, almost the entire kitchen ware are made up of Hello Kitty items:

Even the oven mitts have Hello Kitty's face on them.

For the guys, while you pee, Hello Kitty watches you, reminding you to aim straight:

The rest of the toilet is also filled with Hello Kitty:

All these are but a small portion of the huge house, where every other corner has something related to Hello Kitty. I'm talking about things like Hello Kitty flower stickers above the LED lights of the freezer in the backyard.

Do you know of anybody whose house is decorated with items he/she adores?

除夕!

It's that time of the year again! Reunion dinner tonight and then time to wake up early tomorrow. Hmm, ok, maybe no need to wake up early tomorrow since nobody actually comes over so early after my grandmother passed away.

I have a few friends overseas - Benison, Jenny and Aimei. Don't know if Cindy's back for new year but I should think so. Benison and his friend opened a container of pineapple tarts as a way of celebration. Great way to celebrate. Actually, he doesn't even know if that counts as a celebration. But I do know that he has been checking my blog quite often. JENNY ALSO BEEN CHECKING MY BLOG OFTEN! Aimei usually checks my blog often, but can tell she's been busy with work lately. UPDATE YOUR BLOG MORE OFTEN, AIMEI!

So here's wishing all of you Chinese readers and friends, whether locally or overseas (In Los Angeles, Canada, Malaysia, Korea or Australia) a happy 除夕夜!

Haha, tomorrow then wish you all Happy Lunar New Year.

Result of procrastination

Usually at this time of the year, the first Saturday after 初一 I would be over at my cousin's place, getting ready to lo-hei or however it's called. It's kind of fun and the dinner there would be quite fantastic. Especially love the raw salmon dipped in soy sauce and wasabi.

This year, like my twitter says, I'm at home instead while my entire family is on their way there now. I sincerely regret procrastinating to such an extent this year, so much so that I have no choice but to stay home and study on this lovely day. While they have fantastic food, I'm having a miserable bowl of left-over and steamed henghua noodles. Not to mention that now everybody over there will think that I'm a nerd-cum-mugger-who-has-no-life. Well, perhaps the no-life part is true.

Thus, I now have a new year resolution! It is this:

I shall not procrastinate (too much) such that I would end up missing out on all the good stuff as a result.

Sigh. Not even good porn can cheer me up now. Just kidding about the porn.

Oh, so CNY's tomorrow

I didn't realize that Chinese New Year's tomorrow.

Was wondering what my mother was doing in the kitchen, so busy when reunion dinner's not tonight.
